SnapCast ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use the SnapCast Chrome Extension.
In short: We do not collect your personal data. Your screenshots stay on your device unless you choose to upload them.
2. Data Collection & Usage
Local Processing: All image capturing, editing, and OCR processing happen locally within your browser. We do not transmit this data to any server.
Cloud Uploads: If you use the "Upload to Cloud" feature, your screenshot is uploaded to our secure storage provider (Supabase). A public link is generated for you to share. These images are not indexed by search engines.
User Accounts: We do not require you to create an account or provide an email address to use the extension.
3. Permissions Usage
We request the minimum permissions necessary:
activeTab: To capture the visible area of the current tab when you click the extension.
storage: To save your user preferences (e.g., "Auto Save" settings) and local history on your device.
downloads: To save screenshots to your computer's hard drive.
clipboardWrite: To allow you to copy images or text to your clipboard.
